GoDaddy Dogs Deliver Donation to Humane Society

GoDaddy donated a $100k to the Humane Society, a charitable group dedicated to helping millions of sick, injured, or homeless animals. The move was made all the more popular by the “Go Daddy Dogs”, Max and Chief, who delivered the check themselves.
Max and Chief are GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons’ dogs, who presented the check. He stated:

“Max and Chief learn a new trick for each telethon,” referring to how Chief pulled Max in a Go Daddy chariot to deliver the $100,000 check to end the live telethon. “Max and Chief even went ‘green’ this year using a chariot instead of the Go Daddy motorized car.”

This type of charitable giving is commendable, and perhaps a better (or perhaps more ethical?) strategy than constantly parading around the GoDaddy girls to gain new customers. That said, I still won’t be recommending their services, I just felt compelled to report on the interesting story. GoDaddy is the largest domain registrar in the world (but bigger is not always better, for sure). GoDaddy depended on extremely low prices for their domains for this success, though much of the webmaster community that buys domains from GoDaddy does not use them for web hosting (instead taking advantage of the low prices).
